I have only reread them 4 months ago…but I feel like I really want to read them again…

  1. I regret not reading Earthsea series by Ursula K. Le Guin for years. It probably the first book to feature a school of magic.

The trilogy covers the life of an arrogant village boy (called Sparrowhawk — corny? not really) who goes on to become the greatest wizard who ever lived.
    Book I – A Wizard of Earthsea
Book II – The Tombs of Atuan
Book III – The Farthest Shore

Three more books written several decades later detail the history and polity of those lands, and how things came to be and in how they went after Ged.

  2. If you’re attracted to Hermione’s bookishness and you don’t mind moving out of the fantasy genre, I’d recommend A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.
You should also read Howl’s Moving Castle or anything by Diana Wynne Jones (who has claimed she was JK’s inspiration…you can come to your own decision). Her books are fantastic, though. They fall into children’s lit, but I recently read Howl’s, and it was really good.
I haven’t read it yet, but I am looking forward to reading it: Kazu Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant: A Novel.
    Have fun reading!

    • Thanks!! They all sound great…I’ve had a Tree grows in Brooklyn on my to-read list for a while now, I guess I’m gonna start with that…Howl’s moving castle is one of my favorite movies of all time, I’d LOVE to read that. Never heard og Buried Giant but I’ll check it out. Thank you so much for this! I appreciate it ♥

  3. The Septimus Heap series, the Inheritance Cycle, and The Last Dragon Chronicles (the last two are mostly about dragons but they’re cool fantasy all the same.)
