This is the book I’m currently reading.
I have always been very interested in psychology, and I simply do not know how I haven’t read this one before. A review is coming soon, but I have come across a quote that I just couldn’t not share with you. It’s about depression:
I, instead, saw it as a stranger; however lodged within my mind and soul the darkness became, it almost always seemed an outside force that was at war with my natural self.
-Kay Radfield Jamison, An Unquiet Mind
I feel like this is the most profound sentence, it shows how alien the depression is the patient. And once they recognize it as such, they can start fighting it.
